Lusterwares are one of the most prominent and famous pottery produced in the Islamic world. Although efforts have been made to reproduce and learn about its manufacturing techniques with the help of historical sources, research is still ongoing. The center or centers of their production has also remained a secret. This complexity is due to the fact that so far no evidence of its production has been reported in any furnace or in archaeolog-ical site. A few limited studies with different methods were also conducted by Iranian and foreign researchers, but for a precise and scientific research, especially in terms of proving an interdisciplinary method to distinguish each Lusterwares school on structure and paste, in terms of petrography or chemical elements, researches are needed, especially in different regions of the Islamic world so that the pieces of this puzzle can be put together. 10 pieces of Lusterwares were found in Jizd site in Roshtkhar, were analyzed by petrographic method and the observations were described by Whitbread method. Research Questions: What mineralogical composition characterizes the ceramic paste of the lusterware ceramics from the Jizd archaeological site? Considering that some samples are visually comparable to Kashan-style lusterware, could these samples differ structurally in their paste compo-sition from the other studied specimens? They are similar in terms of texture and mineral and all samples have quartz minerals while other minerals that can give more information are few. Due to the synthetic nature of the pottery paste, the porosity in the tissues is high. The volcanic rock com-position shows that the primary origin of the paste composition is from rhyolite to dacite structure; however, there are volcanic structures in the northeast and southeast of the area that can provide the necessary materials for the production of this type of paste. Potters likely utilized in the production of Lusterware ceramics.
