<div style="text-align: justify;">The Aliabad culture (Iblis IV) represents one of the key archaeological phases of southeastern Iran. Establishing its precise chronological and cultural position is crucial for reconstructing the social, economic, and technological transformations that took place in the region on the threshold of urbanization. Despite its significance, the chronology of the Aliabad culture has thus far been based primarily on stratigraphic and ceramic sequences, typological comparisons, and correlations with contemporary cultural assemblages, while sufficient evidence for estab-lishing a coherent framework of absolute chronology has remained lacking. The present study reassesses the chronology of the Aliabad culture and seeks to define its temporal range by examining and comparing evidence from recent excavations and chronological studies at four key sites in southeastern Iran: Tal-i Iblis, Tepe Dehno, Hajjiabad-Varamin, and Mahtoutabad. Absolute dates are evaluated in conjunction with stratigraphic evidence and ceramic sequences in order to establish more precisely the chronological position of assemblages attributed to the Aliabad culture. The results indicate that the Aliabad culture can broadly be dated to the second and third quarters of the fourth millennium BCE, although the precise date of its initial phase remains uncertain. This chronological range provides a clearer understanding of the position of the Aliabad culture within the broader cultural developments of fourth-millennium BCE southeastern Iran and offers a more robust chronological framework for assessing its relationships with contemporary cultural traditions across the Iranian Plateau and neighboring regions.</div>
