Journal of Research on Archaeometry (JRA)
Peer-reviewed, open access journal of Tabriz Islamic art University – aims to publish original research articles as well as review articles in all areas of archaeometry. Articles cover a wealth of topics, ranging from dating studies of archaeologicalfindings, to provenance, technology recognition and processing history of ancient artifacts.
The Journal seeks to promote open debate amongst archaeometrists committed to an idea of more communication across national frontiers and more interest in interpretation. And it publishes not only new data and interpretations, but also encourages debate about the role different fields of science plays in society, how archaeometry should be organized in a changing world, and about the ethics ofscientifically practice.
JRA accepted highest scientific standards papers by the following types:
- Papers reporting results of original fundamental research
- Review articles from authorized persons
- Short communications
- Case reports
- Technical Innovations
All submitted manuscripts must pass stringent peer-review process and only papers that are rated as high scientific quality are accepted. As a strict role, submitted manuscripts are expected to have a clear archaeological or art historical context, be of the highest scientific standards, and to present data of international relevance.
According to Notice No 3/18/183951 dated Nov.04, 2017 issued by Supervisory Commission of State Scientific Journals affiliated to Ministry of Science, Researches & Technology, the Scientific- Research Rank was granted to Journal of Research on Archaeometry (JRA).

Peer-review process
All submitted articles are evaluated at the submission to meet the structural and subject principles of __JINFO_TXT_TITLE_EN__. The matched articles will go under a double-blinded peer-review process by at least 3 reviewers (experts in the field who are not part of the journal’s editorial staff) who are selected by the Editorial Board members according to their field specialties. The Editorial Board members have the final responsibility to select the articles.
Conflicts of interests
In the cases that a reviewer suspects undisclosed conflict of interest in a submitted manuscript or a reader suspects undisclosed conflict of interest in a published article JRA will follow COPE’s guidelines.
Ownership and Management
JRA is under the scientific control of Editorial Board whose members are recognized experts in the subject areas included within the journal’s scope. Some executive roles of the Editorial Board members are delegated to the Editor-in-Chief who is well-known in the journal’s scope.
JRA is owned and published by the Tabriz Islamic Art University, Iran.
